How We Can Offer Such Affordable Prices

You may be wondering - Wallypop's prices are lower than other online stores I've visited - how can they offer such low prices?

Let me assure you - our products are every bit as high quality as other products on the market. Many of our customers have even told us that our products are better than some of the really well-known brands out there.

So how can we keep our prices so low? Let me tell you.

• I'm not in this for the money. Well, I'd be lying if I said I didn't need the money. But I'm not trying to get rich selling diapers. I'm trying to offer a service - high quality products that single income families can afford. So to that end, I keep my markup fairly low.
• Lower Prices Through Science. I have mapped out the most efficient ways to cut my fabric to get the absolute most out of it. I don't waste much. (Hey, one of the reasons to use cloth is to cut down on waste, right?) This means more product per yard of fabric, which means lower prices for you.
• Lower Prices Through Math. I keep incredibly detailed records and I have massive, interlinked spreadsheets performing complicated calculations that let me know exactly what each product costs me, how much I need to mark it up to cover overhead, etc. This allows me to know how low I can price things and still cover my costs.
• Lower Prices Through Math, II. The spreadsheets also tell me how much I can spend on the materials I use. I shop with my budget in mind, and don't buy something if it's over my budget. Many WAHMs do this the other way around, which results in higher prices.
• I plan ahead. I try to always be on the lookout for good deals on materials - just like you probably are always on the lookout for good deals on the things you use daily. Planning ahead allows me to take advantage of good prices when I see them, rather than having to buy something retail because I didn't keep track of my inventory.
• I shop sales! I buy fabric at the end of the season. I buy clearance fabrics. I buy remnants. I only buy first-quality, high-quality fabric, but I try to buy it cheap.
• I streamline my purchasing process to save time, money, and materials.
• I keep my other costs as low as possible. My web host is very affordable. My shopping cart is free. My merchant account service is among the most affordable. I found a bank that doesn't charge me monthly fees for a business account. I reuse grocery shopping bags instead of buying nice bags to give to customers!

What we don't do:

• We don't use "value" fabrics, which are usually cheaply made.
